Single European Sky
The Single European Sky project was launched by the European Commission and aims at establishing a rational management of the European airspace to optimize safety, capacity and cost effectiveness. Air traffic safety, Belgocontrol’s priority number one, is constantly and thoroughly being dealt with by means of a proactive, systematic and formalised methodology. Safety culture is supported at all levels within the company. Belgocontrol’s raison d’être is to guarantee your safety, both on the ground and in the air, by offering air traffic control services executed with the greatest care.
Put into service in November 2009, CANAC 2 is not only the new air traffic control centre (ACC – Area Control Centre) of Belgocontrol, but also the air traffic control management system which powers this new centre and the air traffic control towers of Belgium’s five public airports: Brussels Airport, Antwerp, Charleroi, Liège and Ostend.
