Air Traffic Safety: Our Mission
Belgocontrol is an autonomous public company in charge of the safety of air traffic in the civil airspace for which the Belgian State is responsible. Our company fulfils this mission by optimising costs and punctuality, by increasing capacity and by ensuring the sustainable development of air traffic. Belgocontrol provides all the essential services to manage and control the air traffic safely:
- ATM - Air traffic management and air traffic control
- Technology : infrastructure and systems of ATM data processing, Communication, Navigation, Surveillance and Meteo
- AIS and Meteo : aeronautical information and meteorological information services

High-level civil and military representatives from Belgium, Germany, France, Luxembourg, the Netherlands and Switzerland signed, on 18 November 2008 at the European Aviation summit at Bordeaux, a Declaration of Intent to jointly build up a common functional airspace block, called FABEC (Functional Airspace Block Europe Central).
